Cubase Track Mix Strip is blank after updating.

For some users (particularly Mac users) when updating from a previous version of our Cubase or Nuendo pack the MIDI Remote fails to overwrite the old file correctly. This guide walks you through the steps to take should you find your Track Mix Strip remains blank after going through the normal update procedure.

The old Midi Remote had one Universal SideshowFX_Track Mix Stip.midiremote file that can be loaded in both Mac and Windows. Now we have two separate Midi Remote Script for mac and Windows.

Each folder has a fail safe Json file in case the installed Json upon importing fails to load the Command Mapping Controls.

STEP 1

Verify that the existing JSON file is in the Proper directories to delete.

Windows: C:\Users\USER_NAME\Documents\Steinberg\Cubase\MIDI Remote\Driver Scripts\Local\SideshowFX\Track Mix Strip

Mac:  /Users/USER_NAME/Documents/Steinberg/Cubase/MIDI Remote/Driver Scripts/Local/SideshowFX/Track Mix Strip

Manually delete this file.

STEP 2

Also, manually delete the file from these Directories.

Windows: C:\Users\USER_NAME\Documents\Steinberg\Cubase\MIDI Remote\User Settings

Mac:  /Users/USER_NAME/Documents/Steinberg/Cubase/MIDI Remote/UserSettings

STEP 3

From the MIDI Remote Manager / Midi Controller tab, remove The SideshowFX_Track Mix Strip Control Surface.

STEP 4

From the Midi Remote Manager / Script tab delete the Controller Script then reboot your computer.

STEP 5

After restart, check that the MIDI Port setup has the correct settings.

STEP 6

Reinstall the updated MIDI Remote Script to replace the previous mappings. Still from the MIDI Remote Manage Import the Script. Choose the new Track Mix Strip from either the Windows or Mac folder.

If in any case, you are requested to Overwrite the Track Mix Strip just click it to overwrite.

You may be prompted to input the

Vendor: SideshowFX Model:

Track Mix Strip Midi Ports:

Input: StreamDeck2DawTrack

Output: DawTrack2StreamDeck

Then Click         ACTIVATE Midi Control Surface

You can test that command items will light up when you press any button in your Cubase / Nuendo Pro StreamDeck Profile.

Restart Cubase to ensure the new mappings are correctly loaded.
